249. പോക (പോയി) TO GO

- 1. THIS VERB EXPRESSES THE FINAL TURN, WHICH AN ACTION TAKES (=OFF, AWAY, ASTRAY, OVER, GOING SO FAR AS) ESPECIALLY THE PAST TENSE.

744. പോക എന്നത് വിവിധ ക്രിയാകലാശത്തിന്നു പറ്റും
It is a sort of Perfect, chiefly with Transitive Verbs.
ഭൂതം വിശേഷിച്ചു സകൎമ്മകഭൂതങ്ങളോടു നിന്നാൽ സംഭവാൎത്ഥത്തോടെ ഒരു വക പൂൎണ്ണ ഭൂതം ഉളവാം.
a.) മാറക്കൂടായ്ക (Irremediableness etc.)
ഉ-ം ഗൃഹം അശേഷവും കൊടുത്തു പോയാൻ (നള. has given away, unretrievably) പറഞ്ഞുപോയി (I have given my word) എന്ന് ഒത്തുപോയി (നള. have come to an understanding of such a tenor വിപ: ഒത്തിരിക്ക 739.) സൎവ്വവും ഭക്ഷിച്ചുപോക (ഭാര. ശാപം) പടെക്കു വരുന്നാകിൽ കണ്ടുപോകെണം തന്നേ (ഭാര.=എങ്ങനെ എങ്കിലും) ചെന്നുപോകരുത്.
b.) Caused by inadvertance, want to selfcontrol etc. and giving rise to what ought not to have taken place.
അനവധാനത്തിൻ ഫലം.
ഉ-ം വിശ്വസിച്ചു പോയി (was led away to believe) അപേക്ഷിച്ചു പോയി (was carried away so far as to entreat) ഹൃദയം വെച്ചേച്ചുപോയി (പ. ത. I have unfortunately forgotten my heart കഷ്ടം). തിന്നുപോയി (I am sorry to say or unluckily I have eaten it) ഇങ്ങനെ നീ നിനെച്ചു പോകേയുള്ളു (കേ. രാ=നീ മാത്രം =സംഭവിക്കയില്ല) നിന്ദിച്ചു പോകായ്കവരെ ഒരിക്കലും (ഭാര. never permit yourself). നിരൂപിച്ചുപോകേണ്ടതല്ല (അൎത്ഥാൽ അബദ്ധം.)
c.) Caused by events beyond our control.
പരാധീനതയുടെ ഫലം.
ഉ-ം ജടയിൽ ഒരു മുത്തു തങ്ങിപോയി (മുക്താഭിഷേകം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടുone pearl of the many poured on his head, remained sticking to his hair) ദീനം പിടിച്ചു പോയി (unexpectedly, unluckily) വന്നുപോകട്ടേ (=വരട്ടേ let happen, what may).
d.) It imparts a passive shade to Intransitive and Transitive Verbs.
അകൎമ്മകസകൎമ്മകങ്ങൾക്കു പടുവിനയാൎത്ഥം നല്കും (പെടുക 642, b. കാണ്ക) ഉ-ം.
അ. ചിന്നിയും ചിതറിയും പോയതു (കേ. രാ.) സ്തംഭിച്ചുനിന്നു പോയി (=സ്തംഭിതനായി) വെന്തുപോക (be burned or boiled) കലങ്ങിപോയി (became troubled=കലക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടു) പാറി പോയി, മറഞ്ഞുപോയി. മരം വീണു പോയി (was blown down).
സ. മൂൎന്നു പോക ഇത്യാദികൾ (be reaped) മുതൽ കൊണ്ടുപോയി (has been taken away) കുടപിടിച്ചു പോയി. അവൻ്റെ ധനം പിടിച്ചുപറിച്ചുപോയി (he was robbed of all his property) വീണ്ടുപോയി 723. ഉപ.=വിടുവിക്കപ്പെട്ടു.
e.) Standing after Adverbials Negative=Positiveness.
മറവിനയോടു സൂക്ഷ്മാൎത്ഥം ഉണ്ടാം (745, b. ഉപ.)
ഉ-ം ഞാൻ ഗ്രഹിക്കാതെ പോയി (നള.) ചെയ്യാതെ പോയി (=വിട്ടു did not do, left it undone, forgot, omitted doing it) അമ്മയല്ലാതെ പോയി താടക എനിക്കെന്നാൽ [കേ. രാ.=അമ്മയായ്‍വരുന്നില്ല with all that T. is certainly not my mother (as you P. R. killed your mother] നിണക്കിതിൽ നാണം ഉണ്ടാകാതെ പോയിതോ? (കേ. രാ. are you so shameless, that) നരപതിക്കും ഏതും തിരിയാതെ പോയോ? (കേ.രാ. has our king lost all sense?) ദുഷ്ടെക്കു ഒരു കാരണത്താലറിയാതേ ൨ വരം കൊടുത്തു പോയി (കേ. രാ.) ബ്രാഹ്മണനെ കൊന്നതു അറിയാതെ വന്നു പോയതാകുന്നു.
മരിയാതൊഴിക (രാ. ച. may I not die).
f.) With ആക it implies Metamorphosis=ending by becoming this or that.
രൂപാന്തരത്തിന്നും മാറ്റത്തിന്നും ആയ്പോക= ആയ്തീരുക (663. 756)കൊള്ളാം: നന്നായ്പോയി; മൂഢരായ്പോയി (രോമ. ൧, ൨൨. became fools) നിൎജ്ജീവമായി പോയി (രോമ. ൪, ൧൯. now dead=become dead).
പാമ്പായ്പൊകനീ (കൃ. ഗാ. ശാപം). ഗജമായ്പോക (ഭാര. ശാപം may you be changed into an elephant) എന്നീ ഉദാഹരണങ്ങളിൽ രൂപാന്തരം വിളങ്ങുന്നു. (666. 692 ഉപ.)
g.) The Conditional implies a warning.
സംഭാവന കരുതികൊൾവതിനു ആം.
ഉ-ം ഒന്നുരിയാടിപ്പോയാൽ ചെണ്ടപൊട്ടും (പ. ത.=നോക്കിക്കൊൾ്ക). അറിഞ്ഞുപോയാൽ (ഠി=ഭദ്രം!) വെട്ടിക്കൊന്നുപോയാൽ (if a fight should ensue 704. കാൺ).
പലപ്പോഴും ഉത്തരവാചകം ചൊല്ലാതെ ഇരിക്കും.
