148. This case, which for the most part requires the particle കൂടെ, denotes the manner of an action; as,
ഞാൻ അവനൊട കൂടെ പൊയി. I went with him.
ഞാൻ നിന്നൊട കൂടെ ഉണ്ട. I am with thee.
അവൻ ഇരുന്നപ്പൊൾ ഒക്കയും മാനത്തൊട കൂടെ ഇരുന്നു.
All the time, or while, he lived, he lived with honor.
അവൻ ദീനത്തൊട കൂടെ ജനിച്ചു.
He was born with disease.
അവൻ തന്റെ ചുമടൊട കൂടെ വീണു.
He fell with his burden.
The following verbs require nouns in this case; as,
ഞാൻ നിന്നൊട അപെക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. I pray you.
അവൻ അവരൊട ക്ഷമിച്ചു. He forgave them.
അവൻ അവളൊട സംസാരിക്കും. He will speak to her.
അവരൊട ചൊദിക്കണം. Ask them.
അവൻ അവരൊട അപ്രകാരം കല്പിച്ചു.
He so commanded them.
അത ഇതിനൊട ചെരുന്നു. That matches this.
അവൻ രാജാവിനൊട മത്സരിച്ചു.
He rebelled against the King.
ഞാൻ അവരൊട ചൊദിക്കും. I will ask them.
അവർ അവരൊട കൊപിച്ചു.
They were angry with them.
അവൻ അവനൊട പകച്ചു. He hated him.
In a few instances verbs require this case of the noun, in the sense of from; as,
ഞാൻ അവനൊട കടം കൊണ്ടു.
I borrowed from him.
അവൻ അവനൊട അത മെടിച്ചു. or വാങ്ങിച്ചു.
He got that from him.
അവൻ ബലാല്ക്കാരമായിട്ട അവനൊട അത പിടിച്ച പറിച്ചു.
He seized it from him by force.
