079 OF THE FORMATION OF THE SUPERLATIVE DEGREE.

131. The superlative is formed by the help of certain adverbs joined to words expressive of character, quality, dimensions, &c: as,
അവൻ എറ്റവും നന്നായുള്ള സ്ഥലത്ത പാൎക്കുന്നു.
He dwells in the best place.
രാജാവ അവന്ന പ്രധാന വസ്ത്രം കൊടുത്തു.
The king gave him the best, lit. the chief, garment.
അവൻ അവരിൽ എറ്റവും അല്പനായി വിചാരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
He is the least esteemed among them.
അത വൃക്ഷങ്ങളിൽ എറ്റവും വലിയതാകുന്നു.
It is the greatest among trees.
