Although the Malayalam requires no Passive, this Verb is employed for the formation of Passive Verbs.
636. This however is but its secondary importance മലയാളത്തിന്നു കൎമ്മത്തിൽ ക്രിയകൊണ്ടു ആവശ്യമില്ലെങ്കിലും (588) പെടുക (പുരാതനം: പടുക) എന്ന ക്രിയയാൽ പടുവിനകളെ ചമെക്കാറുണ്ടു. എന്നാൽ ഈ ഉപപ്രയോഗം അല്ലാത്ത മുഖ്യ പ്രയോഗം നാനാവിധമുള്ളതു.
